About Plumbing Not Working

Plumbing Not Working was created to make common household plumbing problems easier to understand.

I’m Jabeer, the founder and editor of this site and Appliance Not Working. My interest in troubleshooting began with appliance problems in my own home. This blog brings the same interest in clear, practical explanations to water heaters, pumps, well water, and septic systems.

Why this site exists

When water appears on the floor or a pump alarm starts sounding, it can be hard to know which information applies. The aim is to help you identify the symptom, find the right equipment instructions, and understand when to stop and call a qualified professional.

This is an independent educational publication. It is not a plumbing contractor, manufacturer service department, or emergency response service. A guide is not a professional inspection of your system.

How guides are prepared

Guides draw on manufacturer manuals, published troubleshooting information, and relevant public-authority guidance. Model-specific references are linked where they help explain a check. Instructions can vary by equipment and installation, so your exact model’s documentation takes priority.

I separate observations a homeowner can make safely from work involving electricity, gas, hot pressurized water, heavy equipment, or sewage. I do not claim that every procedure on this site has been personally performed or professionally reviewed. If a qualified reviewer contributes to an article, that person’s role will be identified on the article.

Images and illustrations

Illustrations are explanatory aids, not evidence of a completed repair. If an AI-generated image is used, it should be identified as an illustration rather than presented as a photograph of a specific service visit.
